There is always fun and sun at the beach, but you may want to keep your exercise routine while on vacation in Ogunquit. You may also want to try some new activities. Here is a quick list of fun exercise and things to do!

1. Bike

Rent a bike from Hut 66. This quaint bike shop rents bikes by the day or half-day. Prices start at $12. They're located in the heart of the village near Cumberland Farms on Route 1.  Rob has a wide selection of bikes for any type of rider from novice to enthusiast. 2. Run

Ogunquit is known as a Mecca for runners, because of the long beach with hard packed sand. From the beginning of the beach to the end (going north) and back is 5 miles. The Lobster Dash is a favorite race with the race circuit that takes place in September and features a lobster roll to finishers!
Ogunquit also host's the Ogunquit Beach to Bay 5k for AIDS which takes place in early May.This year its on May 1st 2010 at Ogunquit Beach. This race is popular with the running community. maineaidswalk.kintera.org/faf/home/default.asp

3. Hike

Hike the Marginal Way. (Off Shore Road after Sparhawk Motel) The Marginal Way is truly a beauty on any day. This attraction meanders for 1 1/4 miles to Perkins Cove. The path is narrow and there are some slight hills. Beautiful bird watching and waves crashing.

4. Yoga

Sacred Movement Yoga located on Post Road, Moody (just north of  Ogunquit on Route One) offers various types of Yoga. Call 207.409.4216 for more information and times. Sacred Movement also offers weekend Yoga on the beach.

5. Get a massage

The Massage Studio, located behind Caffe Prego at 44 Shore Road, offers wonderful therapeutic massages starting at $40 for a session. MasterCard and Visa accepted.  Call owner Rob Bergeron at 207.646.4333.

6. Go to the Gym

York Fitness Center, located on Route 1 about 5.5 miles south of Ogunquit Square, is truly a unique gym. This gym features a full set of free weights, circuit weights and cardiovascular machines, but it also has a lobster pound inside the gym!  Weekly gym rates are only $25.

7. Go Fishing

The Bunny Clark leaves Perkins Cove captained by Tim Tower. There are half day, full day, and marathon fishing trips (5am to 5 pm). These deep sea fishing trips are for serious anglers! For more information phone 207.646.2214

8. Basketball

Next to the Dunaway Center on School Street sits the cute red Ogunquit School House. The playground features a full basketball court. The Ogunquit Recreation department stocks the court with basketballs. Feel free to shoot some hoops and play a pick-up game.
