For the umpteenth year, Crazy Tommy hosted the event. There was rain on the horizon, so she brought her makeup artist from Mac Cosmetics with her.
Wayne, owner of Club Inside Out, waited on the bridge as the contestants walked down onto the beach.
This year's contest featured a question designed to highlight the personality of each contestant. The questions were asked by 2002 Mr Ogunquit winner Steve. Some examples: "What have you learned from a member of your family", and "Do deciduous trees loose their leaves?"
There was a steady stream of contestants. This was one of the warmest, driest, and most beautiful Labor Day weekends in recent memory.
The on the left claimed to be a meteorologist. Crazy Tommy wondered aloud why he hadn't predicted the light rain, which came from nowhere. She got especially friendly with #12, who had a nice personality, in addition to other assets.
Comedian Khris Francis showed up. He had a strong personality, but couldn't really compete with contestant 16.
Everyone lined up and posed for a group shot at the end. Yes, one of these men would become Mr. Ogunquit 2005!
Later that day it was back to Club Inside Out for Crazy Tommy and makeup artist Etienne. In a fun and spectacular show, prizes were awarded in several categories. A local favorite won for best legs. And they really were good.
It was all in good fun, and in the end contestant #4 was crowned (or whatever that was they put on his head) Mr. Ogunquit 2005!
